Racing Pride is a movement to champion LGBTQ+ inclusion through motorsport and its associated industries. It provides visibility as well as education and advice around allyship and inclusive practices, and works with a range of partners internationally, from grassroots to Formula One.
Founder of Racing Pride, Richard Morris, is a British racing driver, and creator of the Racing Pride movement to positively promote LGBTQ+ inclusion through motorsport.

LGBTQ+ isn’t just for Pride, it’s a lived experience 24/7, and it goes further than skin deep. According to the Annual Population Survey in 2020, it’s estimated that over 3% of the UK population aged 16 and above identifies as lesbian, gay or bisexual. There has been an increase year on year. It’s easy to imagine this figure is even greater here and now in the summer of 2022. According to Stonewall, 1% of the population might identify as trans, including those who identify as non-binary.Â

Creating a safe and inclusive sports environment for LGBTQ+ athletes is essential for promoting equality and fostering a sense of belonging for all members of the sports community. Homophobic language and behaviour in sports can create a hostile and unwelcoming environment for LGBTQ+ athletes and can also have negative impacts on the overall culture of sport. It is important to address these issues in order to create a more inclusive and respectful environment for all athletes.
