LGBTQ+ Inclusion & Awareness in Sport – Kilkenny Sports and Recreation Partnership

During this course you’ll understand the steps you can take to start to make your club/sport a more welcoming and inclusive environment for members of the LGBTQ+ Community.

We’ll cover the following:

• LGBTQ+ based definitions
• Creating an inclusive environment and culture
• LGBTQ+ based terminology
• Case studies of good practice within LGBTQ+ inclusion

By undertaking this training support you are showing a willingness to understand what, for many, may be a new and emerging concept in the Irish sporting landscape. You are demonstrating an understanding and empathy to somebody (perhaps a young sports person) in your club, sporting organisation or sports facility who maybe a little unsure of their sexuality right now. By taking this training, you can enable them to continue to confidently participate in sports and physical activity in a friendly and welcoming environment.
