Accelerate Sport have launched a brand-new eLearning course, ‘Playing Fair: Challenging Sexism in Sport’
The eLearning course is designed for coaches, parents, carers, and staff working with, caring for, and supporting players in sporting environments. The focus of the course is to give learners the confidence to challenge sexism when it occurs, and take steps to preventing it.
The course is made up of four modules. The initial module will introduce learners to the topic, touching on equality and the laws surrounding it.
Module two explores the different ways that sexism can present itself in society and look at some case studies of how this translates to the sporting world. Furthermore, it will consider the effect it can have on both women and men.
The third module look closely at how sexism manifests in sport and considers some of the challenges that women in sport face at all levels.
The fourth and final module reflects on what individuals and organisations currently do to support women and what else can be done to make things even better.
Accelerate Sport Director Simon Richards says: “We’re so happy to finally get this course on the platform. Sexism has no place in our society, and we believe our course will empower learners to take positive steps in challenging sexism in their sports”
The course is available to purchase now for £20 per license. Further discounts are available when you buy in bulk for your organisation. Click for further information about the course and how to purchase.
