The focus of the course is to empower learners to feel confident in reaching and engaging with players who are deaf and hard of hearing by understanding their experiences and the barriers they face.<\/span><span style=\"word-spacing: 0.1em;\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li><span data-contrast=\"none\">Understanding deafness and the importance of inclusion.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"none\">Understand how to engage with deaf people by identifying barriers.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"none\">Understanding mental wellbeing of deaf and hard of hearing people and your duty of care.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li><span data-contrast=\"none\">Considerations, practical tips, and the role those working in sport play.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The course is made up of 2 main modules. Module 1 will introduce learners to the topic, and touch on the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">technical barriers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202fof hearing and communication in sport, and look at how to increase the\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">confidence\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">of players by addressing the\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">social barriers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Module 2 <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">delves into deeper, more thought- provoking subjects, and looks at some\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">strategies\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">for supporting deaf and hard of hearing people. At the end of this module, learners will be provided with practical tips for supporting deaf and hard of hearing people, and suggest some resources that might be useful.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"none\">We\u2019re delighted to have partnered with UK Deaf Sport on this project. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">UKDS is the\u00a0national registered charity and is only recognised national governing body for Deaf sport in the United Kingdom.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Joanne, CEO of UK Deaf Sport says: <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201c<\/span><\/i><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We are thrilled to be launching this new online course on Deaf People\u2019s Inclusion in Sport.
